Summary

Bread Loaf was the Construction Manager for the Emergency Services Facility. The new 30,000 square foot public safety facility is conveniently located on South Main Street in Stowe, Vermont. This multi-story building houses the Stowe Fire Department, Stowe Mountain Rescue, the Stowe Police Department, Stowe Rescue (the Department of Emergency Medical Services) and Emergency Management.

The Police Department, with offices, meeting areas, booking, holding and sallyport areas, is located on the building’s lower level. The Stowe Fire Department, Stowe Mountain Rescue, Stowe Rescue and Emergency Management are located on the upper level with four drive-through apparatus bays, ancillary areas and overnight facilities. Security, communications and information monitoring systems were installed.

The spacious 11,700 square foot apparatus area accommodates 17 pieces of equipment as well as a storage mezzanine. Meeting rooms, restrooms and a large kitchen/pantry area, all available for public use, are also located on the upper level.
