Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry Ground Break
Middlebury, Vermont—A Ground Breaking Ceremony was held on April 18th for the new Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry building, located at 132 South Village Green on Court Street. The primary goal of Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry is to provide increased access to children’s dental care in the community, and it will be the first pediatric dental practice located in Addison County.
The project was initiated by Dr. Brian Collins, a pediatric dentist and Addison County resident. Additional project financing is being provided by the National Bank of Middlebury, the Addison County Economic Development Corporation (ACEDC), and the Vermont Economic Development Authority (VEDA). Bread Loaf Corporation (BLC) of Middlebury is providing Integrated Project Management services for design and construction of the pediatric dental facility.

A board-certified specialist in Pediatric Dentistry, Dr. Collins has 30 years of experience. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, a Diplomate of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, a member of the American Dental Association and the Vermont State Dental Society, and a member of the hospital staffs of UVM Medical Center and Porter Medical Center. While he has been practicing part-time in Vermont for the past three years, having his own office in Middlebury will allow him to focus full-time on providing children’s dental care in Addison County.
Even though Dr. Collins moved here from Texas, his family goes back generations in New England. Brian spent his childhood in New Hampshire and has family in both New Hampshire and Vermont. Brian and his wife Anne discovered what a wonderful community Middlebury is during their son’s time at Middlebury College, and after he graduated they chose to move to Addison County. Anne now volunteers with the Addison County Parent Child Center, the Porter Hospital Auxiliary, the Middlebury Garden Club, and Town Hall Theater. Brian volunteers as an Examiner for the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, and as a Public Policy Advocate with the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry.
Completion of the project is scheduled for November 2016 when Middlebury Pediatric Dentistry will begin accepting patients.
