“Bread Loaf was one of the few firms in the area that could carry out the project from start to finish.”

Rev. Norm MacLeod Reverend St. James Church, Woodstock, Vermont

Summary

Bread Loaf provided Integrated Project Management services for renovation and incorporation of ADA compliance requirements within this high-profile historic property. Primary concerns regarding drainage, energy and ADA issues were addressed by re-grading the site and installing a site retaining wall; site/foundation drainage; incorporation of sustainable, energy-efficient design and construction practices; evaluation of a bio-mass boiler; addition of a new handicapped accessible entrance; and construction of an interior handicap ramp linking the Parish Hall to the Sanctuary with a new elevator fit within the envelope of the historic structure.

Scope of work included renovations to the Sanctuary, Parish Hall ground floor and bathroom facilities, repair of deteriorated masonry, restored or replaced finishes and fixtures, and installation of improved HVAC and electrical systems that meet current life-safety, energy and building code requirements. This work was accomplished within the context of a significant contributing building within the Historic Village District of Woodstock, Vermont.
